Konstantinos Giannopoulos joined Velti as a Project Manager in the Mobile Services Group. Previously he worked as a Senior Consultant for Ideal Systems, as a Project Manager for Newsphone Hellas, as a System Integration and Acceptance Senior Engineer for Nortel Networks France and as a Switching Design Engineer and as a Intelligent Networks Design Engineer for Orange. His educational background includes an MEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Lancaster. He will lead, coordinate and contribute to the development of the sensor- data integration layer ofSensorART (task 2.3.4). Georgia Panagopoulou joined us as a Technical Manager in the MMA Group. She has started working as a Design Maintenance Engineer in the Ericsson Design Centre for mobile projects of Intracom SA. She has moved to Ericsson in Rome as a Second Level Support Engineer mostly working for TIM account. Coming back to Greece she joined Q-Telecom as a Core and VAS Engineer for the start-up of the mobile and fixed network. The last four years she worked in Paris initially for Ericsson as s System Engineer and later in Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). As main projects to be high- light are: the start-up of the WIND operator in Italy, the live migration of the IN system of Q-Telecom, the introduction of the Number Portability in Greece starting from the level of preparing the regulations with the Regulator Authorities until the final implementation for Q- Telecom’s Fixed and Mobile Network, live migration of the nodes for Portability in Bouygues Operator, as Ericsson representative in Bouygues for the implementation of MSS network and the first REAL implementation, integration with the current MSS network and validation of the NSN IMS solution introduction in Orange. She will lead and coordinate the technical activities of Velti in the project.
Dr. Giannis Katsaros recently joined Velti as a Business Development Manager in the e- Government Group. Previously he worked as an IT Consultant in the Consulting Department of ATC and prior to that as a Senior R&D Engineer in HW Communications Ltd., UK and as a Research Assistant in the University of Lancaster. His educational background includes a PhD in Network Security from the University of Lancaster, an MSc (with Distinction) in C ommunications Engineering from the same University and a BEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey. Giannis has numerous publications in the field of Network Security and has delivered talks on the subject in various conferences, workshops and European Commission concertation meetings. He will lead and coordinate the development of the communication services between the different applications of the system in the task 3.2.3 where Velti is involved.
Chris Koutroulos joined Velti as a User Experience Architect in the Innovation Group. Previously he worked as a freelance Art Director and Digital Artist in Web/Media and VFX Studios, Tv and Movie Production Studios. He worked as a Web/Media Designer for Istos S.A., Intrasoft S.A and as an Art Director for GroovyNet, Graal and Noon SA. He got involved in many TV Commercials for Post / VFX Studios like Cinepos, Topcut, Avion Films, TNT and Pass Television, as a freelance Art Digital Artist. Furhtermore, he is a member of the R &D department, focusing on the design and development of database management systems and data access services. His role in SensorART will be in the design of the applications in task 3.4.2 where Velti is responsible for the development of the research application framework.
D. Magkonakis is a User Interface Design Director who has more than 16 years of experience in advertising, graphic design and computer graphics. Before Velti, Dimitris worked as a creative and art director for the products of SAMSUNG Electronics and Aerospace, in Greece and Cyprus. He also worked for the National and Kapodistrian University of Greece and for HELEXPO S.A. His ex pertise includes User Interface design for Online and desktop applications (Portals, eCommerce, etc.), Graphic design (Print, Web) and Animation (Web, Video). Dimitris has studied Graphic Design and has been part of many workshops throughout Europe including industrial design, computer graphics, animation and stage design. He will be involved in the development of the Research application interfaces (task 3.4.2).
